NAVBLUE, the Airbus subsidiary for digital flight operations solutions is looking for a Charting Product Specialist. The Charting Product Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, and customer adoption of the company’s charting solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, gathering and disseminating customer requirements especially on the evolution required to our charting standard, and ensuring the product meets market demands and delivers value to airline operations.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Provide lead subject matter expertise for the NAVBLUE charting standard (i.e. the set of specification that governs the way the various aeronautical information are presented in NAVBLUE charts and supplements ) within the Portfolio department.
  • Design, specify and maintain/evolve the NAVBLUE charting standard for the EFB product based on tactical and strategical product roadmap, customer needs analysis and regulations/standards expectations.
  • Define and maintain data quality requirements toward production teams based on EFB application needs analysis and regulations/standards expectations.
  • Manage prioritization of charting standard improvement activities to meet defined roadmap milestones and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support electronic map functionality definition, implementation and verification and validation regarding charting standard related functionality.
  • Support Customer Experience teams in maintaining training programs and product documentation (legend and tables, user guides, difference training).
  • Act as Standards Committees technical reference for the product line and as such attend regulatory or industry working groups / events
  • Collaborate with the immediate team, product managers, CX group, EA, Marketing, and enterprise Business Owners to define new features and enhancements.

  • Positive stakeholder feedback on product expertise and support

 

Qualified Experience/Skills/Training:  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Cartography or related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in flight operations or aeronautical charting experience
  • Certifications: ATPL desirable

 

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities & Competencies:

  • Previous flight operations and flight deck processes experience
  • Comfortable in collaborating with customers
  • Ability to strongly co-ordinate across different teams with various stakeholders of a project 
  • Independently able to handle challenging situations both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Visionary, open minded and agile.
  • Capability to work under pressure
  • Experience as a Commercial/Military Pilot desirable
  • ICAO Annex 4 knowledge desirable

 

Travel Required: 

  • May require occasional travel for customer meetings such as user forums and industry events. (up to 10%)
